Boot Camp

Boot Camp!!

Posted on 02 August 2009

What is a Furious Fitness Camp? (See video below for some example exercises.. all of these are variable to a client’s individual ability)

Furious Fitness Camps are workouts comprised of 45 minutes to an hour of varying types of exercise. These different exercises fit into 5 primary groups: Resistance Training, Cardiovascular Training, Agility and Speed Training, Plyometrics and Stretching: ex. Yoga (please see below for definitions of these exercise types).

We use speed ladders, natural terrain, dumbells, strength cords, strength bands, body weight, stability balls/medicine balls amongst other equipment depending on the workout.  Pushups, lunges, squats, crunches, jumps, extensions and many variations of these particular exercises are used within the workouts. We also have numerous games we play to keep the cardiovascular levels, fat burning levels and joy levels.. UP!

The majority of these exercises are “compound exercises” which means they utilize a number of different muscle groups at the same time. By recruiting many muscle groups at once you maximize your workouts, burn the highest amount of calories, and build overall, functional muscle. This type of fitness regime keeps your heart rate up, your muscles building and your body melting fat while you have fun!

As you sculpt this new body, you will transform it into a furnace of fat burning coals (muscle!) so that even when you’re lounging on your couch you’ll be burning up calories (muscle weighs more than fat, and uses much more of your bodies energy to function. After a long days work, when all you want to do is plop down on the couch and relax you’ll be able to go for it knowing your body is functioning optimally).

Where and What Time do these Boot Camps take place?

Furious Fitness Camps take place at Small Faces Development Center in the Gym (9250 14th Ave NW) and at Greenlake. We run from 6:00pm to 7:00pm every Monday, Wednesday and Friday.   Come and Join Us For a completely complimentary Fit-Strong-Fast and Fun workout!

We are looking to begin a morning class as well from 6am until 7am. Please email us at fitness@furious-fitness.com and let us know what days work best for you if you are interested in participating.

Why Participate?

With all of the conveniences we have in this modern day and our very busy schedules it has become difficult for us to get out and exercise. Our society has become sedentary, or non-moving. Many jobs require we sit for long lengths of time and.. all our necessities are at the tips of our fingers. We  move at work a little to be effective and we move through the grocery store aisles slowly to collect our readied foods. We need to move.. we must exercise.

By scheduling consistent times to work out with an inspired and joyful group of people, with professionally qualified trainers, you will not have to think about where you will fit in a work out or whether or not you feel inspired. Working out will become a regular part of your schedule and eventually an ingrained, empowering habit!

The benefits:

- Build Muscle (the more muscle the more calories you burn all the time)

- Burn Fat (Be comfortable and confident in your skin)

- Optimize your Oxygen (When your body effectively uses oxygen, you have more energy, burn more calories and have less stress.)

-Release Your Natural Happy Brew- Endorphins (Exercise releases the chemical processes in our bodies which make us feel positive and invigorated. After workouts you will be able to focus more clearly, engage in your relationships with greater presence and have greater amounts of energy to life your life to the fullest)

-Prevent Disease! - You will be doing your body and mind a great favor in helping to prevent alzheimers, heart disease, diabetes (to name a few) by having a regular workout routine!
